This is a country wide intervention to include training of facilitators in Gauteng, the Eastern Cape, KZN, Free State and the Western Cape.

The project aims to link with FNB Fund’s ECD programme throughout South Africa to integrate an inclusion-training component with a view to early intervention and identification of children with disabilities or other barriers to learning and development. The goal of this project is the inclusive education skills development of non-centre based facilitators, so that children who are not accessing formal ECD programmes still have the best possible chance at early learning and development.

Through this training we aim to skill up the identified facilitators in order for them to assist families, FCMs and care givers with referrals and advice on accessing support for early learning and development, as well as to transfer some of the skills and knowledge acquired in the training to parents/caregivers so that children might be better stimulated and supported to learn at home and so that parents and caregivers are better equipped to identify and understand barriers to learning that their child/children might be experiencing. The intervention also aims to raise awareness of the rights of all children, regardless of barriers to learning, to an education.
